Three Month Update
Posted: 11/19/2016 Filed under: Uncategorized 6 CommentsHello everyone,
I wanted to check in with a short update.
I went to UMHS for my first “true” three-month-surveillance test. Previously we were doing monthly CEA blood tests and quarterly scans. Beginning yesterday we are now doing quarterly CEA tests and scans. So this was the first test since August.
And I’m most happy to report the CEA results are in and they are stable at < 1.0. Which means NO EVIDENCE OF CANCER!
We’re still waiting for the CT Scan results but we will celebrate the CEA results today! And we will celebrate life today as well!
Alexis wedding photos came in yesterday and we are having so much fun looking at all the beautiful pictures. Weddings are fun. And as you all may recall Alexis’ wedding on October 1 was our third wedding in fifteen months. And all three were very beautiful weddings indeed. What a run!!!
At noon today we will attend Anna’s reveal party. In case some of you don’t know what a reveal party is let me explain (okay I admit I didn’t know what that was).
Anna and CJ had an ultrasound test done on Wednesday (yes, they are expecting – big smile). The technician sealed the results of the ultrasound into an envelope as Anna and CJ didn’t want to know the gender at that exact moment. The results were then reviewed by a single individual and a baseball made of color chalk was selected for the party. Of course the outside of the baseball is white and looks like an actual ball. But the inside of the ball is either pink or blue chalk. And today at noon, when CJ hits the ball we will all know. Yup. That will be the BIG REVEAL.
And Connie and I will know the gender of our first grand baby (due in April). What a wonderful celebration of life!!!
Now, IF we can add a Bronco and Wolverine win today, wow. I think today may go down as the most perfect November 19 EVER.
And on that note…
From the bottom of my heart, I am most thankful for all the wonderful, beautiful souls that I have had the honor and pleasure of getting to know. Yes, as we approach Thanksgiving I want you all to know that I am most thankful For YOU! I’m thankful for a loving and beautiful family. And for loving and beautiful friends.
I’m also thankful for this awesome, perfect November day!
Today is the Day that the Lord has made. Let us Rejoice and be Glad!
I sincerely wish each and every one of you a blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season.
Sending much Love and Light.
Sincerely,
Philip
Phil, great news! Congrats on this step and continued prayers for you all!
Thankful for YOU!!! Thank God for all the help he gives us too!!!
Phil: it sounds like a lot of blessings are flowing your way, and your gratitude to the Lord is showing through your words. I’m happy for you and your family.
I’ll look for a video of CJ hitting the baseball made of chalk on facebook. “What a wonderful world…”
Hi Phil, I’m so happy to stumble upon your blog. I have stage IV colon cancer and was diagnosed in July 2016. So I’m just starting my battle. I’m also under the care of Dr. Krauss and Dr. Knol at UM (you can imagine my surprise when I found your blog). Thank you for sharing your experience.
Kate, they are good doctors! You also may want to check out the awesome online support group at https://csn.cancer.org/
